'Shared services' has grown to become a major trend in Human Resources and urged on by thought leaders like Dave Ulrich, HR Professionals are making the transition to the Business Partner model. But HR Business Partnering raises high expectations of HR Professionals and delivering 'added value' to the business can prove difficult.
Interpretations of the model vary considerably and tensions develop as stakeholders resist or support the change.
